There are a lot of entrepreneurs throughout North Carolina who are making big changes in their community. Ronald Simmons, founder of Master Blend Family Farms, is one such inspiring success story of someone who turned his love of premium pork into a national brand. He began by gaining essential skills at James Sprunt Community College’s Small Business Center and has created 12 full-time jobs, demonstrating the impact of community support.
Erin Tuveson, who is another remarkable entrepreneur, founded Rambling Roots Hostel near the Nantahala Gorge. After her Appalachian Trail adventures, she secured financing and did business planning with the help of Southwestern Community College’s Small Business Center, then built a welcoming retreat for travelers.
These are stories of North Carolina entrepreneurs that have exhibited resilience and innovation and reminds us that local resources and community support are key to growth of economic success in North Carolina. These journeys lead others to try their entrepreneurial hands and bring in good to their communities.
